The Bachelorette- Emily sends Sean Home

Call me crazy but I must admit that I have been so drawn in to ABC's The Bachelorette this season that it amazes me. I have watched the previous seasons but not like this one. Here are a few reasons why:
1) Emily- I think she is the sweetest and classiest Bachelorette I have seen so far. (I love that never fully utilizes the fantasy suites and the jacuzzi tubs.)
2)Sean Lowe- By far one of the most genuine, caring and sweet Christian gentleman this show has portrayed in a while if ever. He is quite impressive.
3) I am a Hopeless, Romantic who believes in Happily ever after (I married my high school sweetheart and we celebrate 24 years happily married this Aug.)
Of course, like most of America, I too, thought they were a match made in heaven.  When he was eliminated from the show this past Monday, my neices and nephews sons, daughter and sister in law all cried out, Nooooooo!!!! We all sat in shock for moments on end. No one moved. We were waiting for.them to say we got punked or even that she takes him back and changes her mind or something. What a huge disappointment. We all thought we saw the love connection in her eyes. Maybe we did or maybe it was the TV lights. :)
Seriously though, what happened? It seemed from the beginning that she was genuinely attracted to him, she asked him to remain confident, there was a very sweet, sweet connection between the two of them. My thinking is that fear got in the way. Someone posted the most insightful post on Sean's sister's blog to Sean the day after he was turned down. I am paraphrasing  what was written as best as I can, " I believe that Emily knew he was the one but because he was 'perfect' and Emily felt 'imperfect' she was afraid to reach out and grab what she had prayed for and really wanted."
This statement made me think how many times in life we ask.God for things and when he gives us.the opportunities to choose we shrink back in fear because it may look to good to be true or we are doubtful. Hebrews 10:23 states, "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise." God loves us so much and it is his delight to give us our hearts desires. Many times we shrink back in fear (Heb.10:22)  due to looking at ourselves and feelings of unworthiness. You know what? None of us are worthy. Even on our best day. Those who receive God's precious promises are those that believe that God is and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.(Heb.11:6)  as believers we must hold fast to our belief that God loves us and wants  the very best for us.  James 1:8  states"a double-minded man is.unstable in all his ways. Let not him think he shall obtain anything from the Lord." Until we get our hearts firmly rooted in the Word of God and trusting FULLY in God's promises, we will produce more Ishmael's than Isaac's and continue to wander in the wilderness looking God's blessing when right in front of us.
So, for the bachelorette... do I think she made the wrong choice? Yes. Do I think that God is mad at her? NO!  I think God's plans are bigger than that. He loves so much. He builds contingencies into our lives for ultimately to work together for our good.(Romas8:28)
There is no judgment or condemnation. God is Greater! He will keep trying us and tughing at our hearts until we trust him fully! We are his workmanship..A true work in progress!!!!
